Seyfarth Shaw seeks an Associate with 2-4 years of eDiscovery experience to join its growing national eDiscovery practice based out of Chicago. Sample duties include drafting litigation hold notices, developing and implementing preservation plans, responding to e-discovery requests, undertaking meet and confer negotiations, developing discovery plans, arguing motions, managing vendor relationships, developing strategy related to attorneys review, conducting internal investigations, preparing record managers and IT personnel for depositions, managing experts and presenting expert testimony. Additional duties relate to advising clients on litigation readiness and best practices regarding records retention, data preservation and collection, and related discovery matters. Seyfarth Shaw’s eDiscovery practice is national in scope providing advice, counsel and representation to many of the nation’s largest companies. In order to best serve its clients, Seyfarth Shaw has chosen to dedicate an entire practice area to eDiscovery. Candidates must have litigation experience with an in-depth understanding of the new Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and case law pertaining to electronic discovery. Candidates must also have strong familiarity with and understanding of enterprise information technology systems. Formal or informal IT / Computer Science experience and/or education is strongly desired. Experience working with nationally recognized data management vendors and forensic experts is desired. Consulting or large firm experience is also desired.
